Support the Foundation's Media Efforts
Our Foundation is well equipped to provide
full media support for marketing or documentation of a fuel briquette
extension program, the product and the newly trained micro entrepreneur
production teams. This includes: co- scripting, sound and video production,
editing and post production. The media is digital video. In producing
9 such films in three continents, Legacy's video media productions
prove highly effective in promoting public awareness, stimulating
effective national development policy and mobilizing resources.
Foundation base costs include two person-months on site plus another
person-month for editing and production of up to 20 professionally
dubbed and packaged copies. Add two return trips from Legacy Foundation
home office and local expenses for two persons, each for 30 days on
site. Cost determined on a case by case basis.
Support our Research on the Development
of Briquette Making Technology for the American Household and Neighborhood
Recycling Center
Legacy is now developing and testing
a one step, self contained machine which will turn junk mail and ordinary
yard wastes directly into briquettes. In its final form, the machine
is to be about the size of a small top loading washing machine or
large "shop vac". It will operate from normal household
current and regular piped water supply. Waste paper and yard wastes
are simply dumped into the top of the water filled tub and a finished
briquette emerges ready for drying and use. All expelled water is
contained within the machine and completely recycled.
The foundation has through its own resources managed to develop the
working prototype but now faces the investment required for developing
a production model, production arrangements and creating the necessary
awareness to drive public appeal. As with the proceeds from all our
other products, all profits are used to support similar sustainable
development activities under the Legacy Foundation's non profit service
mandate. All contributions are tax deductable.
General Assistance
Like any non-profit, the foundation
trys to keep its expenses down and its project support paramount.
At the same time, the foundation's clients are not the global development
organisations but the locally based rural development organisations
who rarely have enough resources to maintain themselves. For this
reason the Foundation warmly welcomes general administrative or project
assistance, particularly in the form of grant writing and followup,
and general marketing of our services to the development community.
